According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia
in the period January-February 2025 amounted to 75 650.4 million denars, a 1.6% increase compared to the same period last year. The
value of imported goods in the same period was 112 862.3 million denars, or 4.9% more than the same period last year.
The trade deficit in the period January-February 2025 was 37 211.8 million denars.
Import coverage by export in the period January-February 2025 was 67.0%.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or
precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships,
parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils
and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in
powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and the electricity.
In the period January-February 2025, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic
of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria.
External trade expressed in euros and US dollars
Expressed in euros, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2025 amounted to 1 229.4 million euros, a 1.8% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 1 834.2 million euros, or 5.1% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-February 2025 was 604.7 million euros. The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-February 2025 amounted to 1 276.7 million US dollars, a 2.6% decrease compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was 1 904.1 million US dollars, or 0.6% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-February 2025 was 627.4 million US dollars.
